Mental Metal

Terms of Use

Squish: Video Compressor · Last updated: 8 June 2026

The short version: Squish compresses your videos entirely on your phone. The core app is free, with no watermark, no size cap, and no ads. Squish Pro is optional: a one-time Lifetime unlock, or an annual subscription with a 3-day free trial that you can cancel anytime in your app store account settings. The app is provided "as is".

1. Who we are

The app is operated by OnIT Tech Pty Ltd (ABN 71 670 099 395), trading as Mental Metal ("we", "us"). By downloading or using the app you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the app. Questions: [email protected].

2. Licence to use the app

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the app on devices you own or control, for your own personal use. You agree not to copy, sell, sublicense, reverse engineer, or attempt to extract the source code of the app except to the extent permitted by law.

3. Purchases and billing

Compressing videos is free, with no watermark and no file-size cap. Squish Pro unlocks maximum-quality output, format conversion, custom resolution and bitrate, and faster batch encoding. It is offered two ways:

Purchases are sold and billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, under their terms. Payment is charged to your app store account at confirmation of purchase. The annual subscription renews automatically for the same period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the period end. The Lifetime option is a single charge and does not renew. Prices are shown in the app before purchase and may vary by region and over time. You manage or cancel a subscription, and any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited on purchase of a subscription, in your Apple Account or Google Play account settings, not in the app. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies.

4. Your videos stay on your device

Squish reads the videos you choose and writes the compressed results locally on your phone. Your videos are not uploaded to us and are never stored on any server. You are responsible for your device and for keeping your own backups of any files that matter to you; deleting a file or the app removes the related local data. How we handle the limited anonymous diagnostic and purchase data is described in our Privacy Policy.

5. Acceptable use

You agree to use the app lawfully, only with content you have the right to use, and not to interfere with its operation or security. The app processes media on your device; performance and results depend on your device and the source files.

6. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The app is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that compression will achieve a particular size or quality for every file. Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under consumer law (including the Australian Consumer Law) that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, to the maximum extent permitted by law our liability arising from your use of the app is limited, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including any loss of files where you have not kept your own backups.

7. Changes

We may update the app and these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Australia, without limiting any mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live.
